THE FOLLOWING IS AN ILLINOIS JAYCEES RELEASE:
March 6, 2022-The Illinois Jaycees selected Danville resident Alexandra Gale as honoree of its Outstanding Young Persons of Illinois awards program. The Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) program annually recognizes young people throughout Illinois who excel in their chosen fields, endeavors and show a great commitment to their respective communities.
Gale, 29 is being recognized in the category of Personal improvement and/or accomplishment. Gale was hired in January of 2021 as the Vermilion Regional Airport Manager and is responsible for ensuring the airport is maintained efficiently and effectively, bringing in events and creating public interest in the airport. Under her leadership, the airport is thriving and growing. She has ensured airport leases were in order, overseen new facility projects and renovations. In addition, Gale hosted a Drive-Thru Vaccine Clinic in March of 2021 at the airport with the Health Department and the National Guard where over 1,200 people were vaccinated. In addition, she has created new events such as Trunk or Treat which had 2,000 people in attendance. Gale is also a member of the Rotary, the Vermilion Advantage and the Young Professionals Network.
“I am incredibly humbled to be recognized as a TOYP honoree,” said Gale. “This recognition will continue to motivate me to inspire other women to be brave and courageous and never give up on their goals.”
The Illinois Jaycees will recognize this year’s honorees at an awards banquet on April 30, 2022 at the Wyndham Springfield-City Centre. The event is supported by friends and employers of the honorees, local Jaycee organizations, Illinois businesses and the Illinois Jaycees Charitable Foundation.

Leadership development through community involvement has been the basis of the Jaycees since its inception in 1920.
