THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA PRESS RELEASE:
Danville, IL, March 9th, 2022 – As a way of saying thank you to front-line healthcare workers and honoring their continued work in their mission, the DSO is offering the community access to a free live stream of this Saturday’s performance!
Fischer Theatre Executive Director Jason Rome states: “The Danville Symphony Orchestra is dedicating the Sat., Mar. 12 concert to the people who have saved lives throughout the pandemic—front-line healthcare workers. In an effort to help the DSO reach the members of our community who are not yet ready or able to experience this concert in person, we hope this live stream can help bring the healing powers of this fantastic music to as many friends, families, and neighbors as we can.”
The evening’s program features the majestic music of Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 and a Weber Clarinet Concerto. Clarinet virtuoso Tom de Torres will perform as the guest artist for the Concerto, which he calls “a favorite for audiences and musicians alike.”
Local resident de Torres is himself a front-line healthcare worker. Besides being the principal clarinet for the Symphony, he’s a physician assistant in the surgery department for the Danville VA Medical Center.
The live stream will be broadcast via the DSO’s “A NEW WORLD” LIVE STREAM! Facebook Event shared by both @DSODanville and @FischerTheatre
In-person tickets for the concert being presented at the historic Fischer Theatre in Downtown Danville, IL may be purchased online at fischertheatre.com, or by calling (217) 213-6162.
