Schlarman Academy students from a senior religion class took to the northwest corner of Vermilion and Winter late Wednesday morning to put out signs and show support for Ukraine.

Schlarman Academy Dirctor of Advancement Janet Picillo says the students have been planning the placement of the signs for a couple weeks.
AUDIO: We’ve had it on our sign since the war started. And we felt it was just important to show that, as a Catholic school, we think this is wrong.
Schlarman Academy senior Jason Craig says you may be seeing their signs on the other side of the campus as well.
AUDIO: The plan was to post the signs and kind of let the awareness spread from there. And we’re going to hope to get some more on Vermilion and some on Winter as well, to get more awareness out there.
The signs are in Schlarman Academy blue and gold colors. Craig says the students in the class have been wanting to spread the word on how they feel about the Russian attacks on Ukraine.
