Easter may be down the road on April 17th, but this Friday Downtown Danville’s First Friday event for April is all about Easter. It’s the Hop Downtown Family Easter Event that will include a load of attractions at the Danville Public Library from 3 to 7 PM, including a 30 animal petting zoo and free train rides. And as Danville Community Relations Administrator Ashton Greer reminded Tommy B on D102’s Big Show, that’s only the beginning.
AUDIO: Anywhere you go, from the library all the way to Main Street, there’s going to be really fun activities. So just take a stroll, you’re going to find lots of free and fun things to do. The only thing that’s going to cost you anything would be the food that you eat when you’re downtown. Everything else is complimentary, and there are some really cool things going on.
Just go to facebook.com/firstfridaysdanville for the complete roster of events. Greer says, plenty of sponsors are making this possible, including, as they say in football, “the front four.”
AUDIO: We have a ton of sponsors, an incredible amount of support from the community for these events. But I want to mention our ‘first place sponsors,’ they’re our top level sponsors. And so that’s Carle Health, OSF HealthCare, Aunt Martha’s, and then Hayley Siefert with KW Realty.

There’s also pictures with the Easter Bunny, the new OSF Care-A-Van, and the Fair Hope clothing giveaway at Temple Plaza; and then the Pac Man Egg Maze in Kresge Park. That’s for little kids under 5 starting at 5 PM, 5 to 8 year olds starting at 5:45, and 9 to 12 year olds starting at 6:30. And don’t forget the movie HOP at the Fischer Theatre at 7 PM. Also, of course, between 7 and 9 PM, there’s plenty of places adults can go, and maybe pick up a prize.
AUDIO: Start anywhere; there’s 350 eggs per location. At each location, each adult gets to pick one egg. The eggs range in value from about a dollar all the way to 100 dollars. So there’s all kinds of prizes in these eggs, it’s really fun. There’s eight locations on your map; first 350 adults at each locations get prizes.
In addition, Friday night at 7:30 is also when Red Mask’s presentation of THE GRADUATE opens. A huge afternoon and evening in Downtown Danville Friday, and that’s NOT an April Fool’s joke.
