THE FOLLOWING RELEASE IS FROM DANVILLE FIRE CHIEF DON MCMASTERS
I am proud to announce that four of our members will be honored at the 29th Annual Firefighting Medal of Honor Awards Ceremony on May 10th, 2022, in Springfield. The day‘s events will begin at 10:00am with the Fallen Firefighter Memorial Service to be held at the site of the Firefighter Memorial on the State Capital lawn.
Immediately following the Memorial Ceremony, the Firefighting Medal of Honor Committee will host the 29th Annual Firefighting Medal of Honor at the Bank of Springfield Center located at 1 Convention Center Plaza. These awards are in relation to a rescue that these four men made on September 4th, 2021. The awards are as follows.
Lieutenant Chad Busick – Medal of Valor
Firefighter Easton Hoskins – Firefighting Excellence Award Captain
Sean O’Kane – Unit Citation
Firefighter Kaleb Thompson – Unit Citation
