The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Response Team plays a crucial role in disaster response efforts by offering basic needs to those who may have lost everything when disaster strikes.
Examples of disaster response efforts in neighboring counties recently include incidents of flooding, tornado damage, and serving first responders on the scene of a local fire.
To be notified of emergency volunteer opportunities with The Salvation Army, get certified by completing this introductory class in May, plus a Safe From Harm class, (Offered every month in Champaign). Upon completion of both classes, you will receive a National Emergency Disaster Response Certificate, a personalized photo badge, and the confidence of being part of a nationally recognized emergency response team.
If you choose, you can elevate your skills each quarter by taking additional free classes including Incident Management, Canteen Operations, Food Service, Emotional and Spiritual Care as well as Basic First Aid and CPR training.
