THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
During the follow-up investigation into the shooting that occurred on 05/13/22, Danville Police were able to identify the suspect as 29 year old Tyler W. Perkins of Danville. A Vermilion County arrest warrant was issued for Perkins and on 05/17/22 around 9:00 am Perkins was taken into custody by the Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department at the Vermilion County Courthouse where Perkins was attending court on an unrelated case.
Perkins was transported to the Danville Public Safety building where he is currently awaiting arraignment in court for a charge of aggravated battery with a firearm with a bond of $500,000 10%. Further inquiries into the arrest or charges for Perkins can be directed to the Vermilion County State’s Attorney’s Office.
At this time the victim in this case is still listed in stable condition.
