A Thursday evening crash involving a Jeep and a motorcycle near Fifthian has claimed a life. Illinois State Police say the driver of the motorcycle…28-year-old Timothy E. Davis of Mahomet…was pronounced dead at the scene along Interstate 74.
Preliminary information released by State Police says both units were traveling westbound in the right lane. Troopers were told the motorcycle failed to reduce its speed and crashed into the Jeep which was being driven by 29-year-old Essence Anderson of Normal. Anderson and two children who were traveling with her – ages 6 and 9 – were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash resulted with the interstate being closed in that area for several hours during the investigation, but all lanes have since re-opened. The accident occurred at approximately 8:50 p.m. Thursday, May 19th.
