As Primary Election Day is coming up next week, Vermilion County Clerk Cathy Jenkins held a public test of some voting equipment and software outside her office in the Vermilion County Administration Building this past Friday. Jenkins says the great thing was, this year, more volunteers stepped forward to help out.

AUDIO: We do it every year where we pull some precincts out. And we test the machines, and we test running through ballots and stuff, so that we know that everything’s working well. We announce that, we put it out in the paper as a press release, and never do we ever have anybody show up. This year we’re lucky enough, we do have some people from the public showing up wanting to to see how this works, and so we’re kind of excited about that. We’re ready to go.
Primary Election Day is Tuesday, June 28th; and early voting is available at the clerk’s office.
