The Vermilion County Fair got rolling Wednesday right around 5 PM. Everything from a mom from Danville pushing two little ones in a small wagon, and a third youngster walking along with her.
AUDIO: The older two want to ride rides, the younger one says she’s too scared. (But they all want to eat?) Yes.
To a little guy there with his family from Urbana; trying to explain what he liked the most so far…
AUDIO:(One-on-one conversation, interviewer and child).”
Emma Glotzbach, last year’s Miss Westville Labor Day, was there to offer encouragement for pageant participants. She says, give it your all, you just might be surprised.
AUDIO: Anything’s worth a shot, honestly. This wasn’t an experience that I had intended on succeeding through, but you have to take the chances that aren’t worth, like given.
Defending Vermilion County Fair Queen Tinlee Shepherd told D102’s Tommy B that it’s been a very quick year.
AUDIO: It feels like it honestly just happened, it was such a dream, I feel like I just got it and now I have to give it up. I mean when I won last year I was 17 years old. I know it was just a year ago, I feel like I was a baby then.
And defending Vermilion County Jr Miss Katelyn Callahan called the past year a whirlwind of opportunities.
AUDIO: I think it’s just getting to experience different things that I never got to experience; going one place to another every week.
The Vermilion County Fair continues through Sunday.
