The Vermilion County Fair Continues through Sunday, and for those checking out rodeo action Friday and Saturday evenings, someone there Saturday may look a little familiar.
State Rep Mike Marron, as he explained to Neuhoff Media, has been participating in rodeo for quite a while.
AUDIO: I’ve been involved in the sport ever since I was in high school; ever since I was 17. So, I’ve been (also) involved in the rodeo at the Georgetown Fair for a number of years.
And now that the action has returned to the Vermilion County Fair, Marron will be there. But he did mention that what he participates in has changed a bit over the years.
AUDIO: Well when I was younger I used to try to ride the bucking horses; ride saddle bronc horses. That’s kind of my favorite event, the thing that I had the most passion for, but I didn’t have a lot of talent for. And now that I’m a little bit older, I like to team rope. Still, you know, not the most talented guy. But I darn sure have a lot of fun and try hard out there.
The Vermilion County Fair continues through Sunday.
