The 2022 version of Danville’s Arts in the Park had a busy weekend in Danville’s Lincoln Park. And despite some rain here and there, the community was out and about over the weekend. President Shannon Schroeder talked with us about it right around lunchtime on Saturday.
Audio PlayerAUDIO: We have had a fabulous turnout here this weekend. And we have a lot more to go. And it’s just sprinkling right now, it’s really nice. All is fine. It is a fabulous weekend so far, and we are enjoying it. Everyone’s enjoying it.
Over at Saturday’s car show, Shawn and Joanna Bennett were displaying their classic 1946 pick-up, along with a very unique camper that goes with it.
Audio PlayerAUDIO: (Joanna) Just a lot of fun and seeing people, and enjoying the day with the fun things I see and the creativity. It’s amazing. (Shawn) A lot of people came out, and it’s just good to see them; nice friendly people.
On Saturday, as the Wabash Valley Area Band was getting set up, emcee Brian Schroeder said with a weekend like this one, which also included the County Fair, and more to come this summer; no one can complain about a lack of things to do.
Audio PlayerAUDIO: It just keeps coming. With the boat races coming up, in August I believe it is. People say there’s nothing to do in Danville. Well, they need to be here, because there’s always something great to do in Danville.
And of course, next up, Fourth of July Weekend, AND THEN, Balloons Over Vermilion.
