Danville City Council members are expected to vote Tuesday evening on an ordinance setting the pay for those city leaders who will be elected next April. Included are the proposed new pay levels for the Mayor, City Treasurer, and the seven aldermen who will be elected.
The Mayor’s salary would be $95-thousand dollars annually, starting May 1st of next year. It would rise to $105,000 a year later, then to $115,000 then $125,000 in the final year of the four-year package.
The salary for the City Treasurer would be $50-thousand dollars effective May 1st of next year. In the three following years the pay would go to $55-thousand dollars…$60-thousand dollars, then $65-thousand dollars the final year.
And Danville City Aldermen elected next year would receive $3,600 annually. It would apply to the seven aldermen elected next year. The salary for the other city council members would be adjusted later when their positions are up for election.
