A vote which had been expected at Tuesday evening’s (July 19, 2022) Danville City Council meeting on a new pay hike proposal is being delayed. Mayor Rickey Williams, Jr. says it is Vice-Mayor Bob Iverson’s proposal and since he will be absent, the vote will occur at a later meeting.
The ordinance being pulled from Tuesday evening’s agenda would have set the salaries for the Mayor, City Treasurer and Aldermen following next April’s City Election.
Although no action is expected on the pay hike package, Mayor Williams says he does expect a vote at Tuesday’s meeting regarding the parking and storage of recreational vehicles, campers, watercraft, off-road vehicles and utility trailers.
The council meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Robert E. Jones Municipal Building at 17 West Main Street.
