UDPATE: Royal Donut has announced they will reopen at 5 AM on Tuesday, August 9th.
We are almost there, to the reopening of Royal Donut on North Vermilion in Danville; as many have noticed the new seal coating on the parking lot. When Mad Goat Coffee purchased Royal Donut after the previous owners closed it earlier this year, the plan was perhaps a late summer grand opening. Mad Goat Coffee Owner and Manager Sam George says; yes indeed, it’s now a matter of weeks.
AUDIO: (We’re) wrapping up some of the more major construction projects; we’re just putting some final touches on things. We’re starting training with some of our new staff this week. We’re not quite ready to announce an official open date, but we’re looking at it being probably two-three weeks out.
George says they’ll be using familiar color schemes at Royal Donut. And similar to Mad Goat Coffee, merchandise will be available.
AUDIO: We love the pink and purple; the classic Royal Donut look. And if anything, we’ve leaned into it more. We’ve painted a lot of the walls pink; we have purple accents, we have candy striping. So we have some great coffee mugs that say “Royal Donut” in purple. We’re going to have some T-shirts in pink and blue. So yes, we’re going to have lots of fun stuff.
It is true that Mad Goat Coffee also acquired the old Royal Donut location on Main Street, but that’s just being used for storage and back-up equipment right now.
