They’ve been working on it for a couple months, and it’s now official. Greenwood, parent company of Trigard and Sunset Funeral Home, has purchased Eagle Funeral Products, a company based in Joliet. As Trigard’s Ethan Darby says Eagle’s products will now be part of what Trigard offers.
Audio PlayerAUDIO: They provide a very similar product to what we provide from our company called Trigard; which is a burial vault liner that a casket will go in before it goes into the ground. It protects the casket space; keeps the casket space dry and free from debris. They’ve got a network of customers all across the country just like we do. So, basically, we’re essentially buying the right to service their customers with a very similar product to what we’re already producing.
Darby says no real estate was purchased in the transaction, so all the equipment and inventory from Eagle will be moved down to Danville, with about four-thousand square feet being added to Trigard’s storage facility on Kimball off of Voorhees. Some new personnel are coming aboard as well, including a new customer service representative.
Darby hopes to have the inventory completely down here in about a month, but as of right now, he says they’re already producing Eagle products. He says this purchase will be noticed on a national level due to the Eagle customers they will now be serving.
