The Hoopeston Sweet Corn Festival gave away between 22 and 24 tons of sweet corn over the holiday weekend. Neuhoff Media had the chance to speak with Brett Rush, a 30-year member of the Hoopeston Jaycees.
AUDIO: This year’s actually been pretty good. The crowds look good, the corn lines have been good; everything’s been going pretty good this year. (QUESTION: Now what about the crop; how’s the sweet corn look as far as how much this year?) Actually the corn has been in good shape; it looks real good. Yeah, we’ll have enough corn. We’ve got plenty. We’ll keep up.
Much of the sweet corn came from the Vincennes, Indiana area.
