THE FOLLOWING IS A VERMILION COUNTY STATE’S ATTORNEY RELEASE
On Tuesday September 6, 2020, Judge Charles Hall sentenced Lerone Johnson to thirteen (13) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by one (1) year mandatory supervised release (i.e. parole).
In 2019 CF416, Johnson plead guilty to Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a felon, a Class Two (2) Felony punishable from three to fourteen years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Danville Police Department responded to a call of shots fired on June 29, 2019 in the Fair Oaks Housing Complex. The Danville Police were able to determine that Johnson was in possession of a handgun.
In 2020 CF 820, Johnson plead guilty to Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a Class One (1) Felony punishable from four (4) to fifteen (15) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. On August 31, 2020 agents working with the Vermilion County Metropolitan Enforcement Group observed Johnson sell a little more than one (1) gram of fentanyl during an on–going investigation.
