This weekend’s Red Mask presentation of “Bleacher Bums” will take place at Wrigley Field, but will actually happen in the lot right next to Vermilion River Beer Company at 103 N. Vermilion in Danville. Red Mask president Lisa Lovelace says this is a definite team effort, happening at 3 PM both Saturday and Sunday.
AUDIO: We’re turning the lot next to Vermilion River Beer Company into Wrigley Field. The play is called “Bleacher Bums.” It takes place in an afternoon game at Wrigley Field, and the game is between the Cards and the Cubs. And we’re asking everyone to wear their fan gear, and come out and have a raucous good time.”
Lovelace says you can get tickets at the site, or through https://redmaskplayers.com/ on line, or at their ticket office or call 217-442-5858. But either way, this is a participant heavy show, so be ready to act like a baseball fan.
AUDIO: We had some people who were willing to help out; and Peter Blackmon jumped on board, and Lovin’ Cup jumped on board. They’re going to be doing Chicago Style Hot Dogs for us. We’ll have the usual beer vendors shouting, “beer, cold beer here!”
