The 47th annual Vermilion River Fall Festival this past weekend included the popular Friday night return of live music, along with beautiful weekend weather to bring out the crowds.

Danville Mayor Rickey Williams, Jr was heading back from a conference in Chicago when everything got started Friday night. But when we caught up with him Saturday at the Chris Oberheim Memorial Softball Game at Danville Stadium, he was quite happy with how everything went with Friday night’s live music session.
AUDIO: There was a huge crowd, everyone had a great time; so it’s something that we’ll continue, and hopefully even expand upon in the future.
As Saturday’s session was winding down, with lots of little ones enjoying the pony rides, Danville Community Relations Administrator Ashton Greer admitted she was tired, but quite happy with everything.
AUDIO: The crowds were huge, and we have more food trucks this year than we did last year. We have eight trucks, and then three additional food vendors. So there’s 11 in total, which is way more than we had last year. We have yard games, ponies, bounce houses; I feel like the crowds are just really huge; very steady today.
The 47th Annual Vermilion River Fall Festival wrapped up with Sunday’s 10 to 4 session.
