The Danville High School Class of ’82 is celebrating a 40 year reunion the weekend of October 7th through the 9th, and a big part of the weekend will be Sunday the 9th, 10 AM to 1 PM, in Lincoln Park. As Class of ’82 graduate Wesley Lewis explains, this is going to be a Community Outreach Program. It will include a church service, activities for the kids, and feeding the community; whomever happens to come by to be fed. He says plans have been in the works since March of 2021. And if necessary, depending on how many come by, they could go past 1 PM.
AUDIO: It’s going to be a nice, very beautiful day. Besides feeding the community and activities for the kids, we’re going to have a one hour church service. And a lot of the church service will be conducted by pastors who were fellow alumni from the 1982 class.
Lewis gave a partial roster of some DHS graduate pastors who just might stop by.
AUDIO: I think Tim Leek is one of them, Robert Miller is another. I believe Rickey Hoskins is yet another one; those are all from our 1982 class. I’m not sure if there are going to be others from other alumni classes, but they certainly are welcome. And we’ve reached out to all of the alumni classes, and really most of the activities from throughout the whole weekend; they’re invited to as well.
