If you see a lot of people at the Gao Grotto this weekend, that’s because it’s convention time. Catching up with Rick Strebing after the Danville City Council Public Services committee meeting Tuesday night, he told us that with a great view of Lake Vermilion, it’s a fine place to hold a big meeting.
Audio PlayerAUDIO: People are coming in from nine different states. It’s the Midwest Grotto Association. We’ve probably got 150-175, maybe 200 people. We’ve got people playing golf on Thursday. The big meeting and everything to elect new officials for the board that sits over at Midwest will be on Friday. We’ll have a big tuxedo night, and suit night dinner.
And after the big meeting Friday night, many are planning to stay for boat rides on Lake Vermilion over the weekend.
