It’s a busy time for Crosspoint Human Services. Not only are they busy with their Supply Drive all through October’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month, but they also cut the ribbon this past Friday for their new Professional Therapy Services building at 309 North Logan. Crosspoint CEO Lisa Rhodes said a big donation from the Julius W. Hegeler II Foundation made this possible.
AUDIO: So adults, children, and families will be being served by our professional therapy staff. (This is) a newly designed building; complete with a children’s play therapy room; specialized services. And we will begin seeing patients here, having patients served here, on October the 10th.
Currently, these services have been at Crosspoint’s 210 Avenue C location. After October 10th, that location will continue to serve individuals for care coordination, crisis services, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Danville mayor Rickey Williams, Jr says; it’s great to take a structure, renovate it, and put it back to work.
AUDIO: Anytime we can take an existing building and make it become something productive; especially something like this, it helps people with mental health needs, with substance abuse; it’s a great thing for our community. So we are really blessed today.
The mayor said with added parking space for the new Crosspoint facility, the city was able to tear down some unsightly structures as well.
