This is Homecoming Week at Danville High School, and that includes a big 40 year reunion celebration from the Class of ’82. Two members of that class spoke last week on D102’s The Big Show. Tommy B welcomed fellow ’82 classmate Wes Lewis, who talked about the whole weekend coming up, but especially the planned Community Outreach Program from 10 AM to 1 PM this coming Sunday at Lincoln Park. It’s going to be a feed the community day, along with a church service and activities for the kids. And as Lewis explained to Tommy B, the idea is for for the Class of ’82 as a whole to start a new tradition.
AUDIO: Now it’s our turn to try and give something back to the city of Danville, and that’s what we’re going to do. We’re now a 501-C3 approved tax-exempt organization. And not only that, but going forward, we’re going to help other alumni classes, if they would be interested, or any other organization if they are interested, to put on community outreach programs; to just provide some positivity, bring unity, and bring fellowship to the City of Danville.
Lewis says go to the DHS Class of ’82 Facebook page for a rundown of all the reunion activities this weekend.
