Champaign-Urbana, IL. – Illinois State Senator Scott Bennett and Illinois State Representative Carol Ammons will join local environmental and consumer advocacy organizations at a town hall on Tuesday, October 11, about the benefits of the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA). Senator Bennett, Representative Ammons, and clean energy policy experts will explore new clean energy opportunities for east central Illinois and discuss how the local community can take advantage of consumer benefits like clean energy, energy efficiency, and the clean energy job training hubs planned for Champaign and Danville.

In mid-September Illinois celebrated the first anniversary of CEJA which boosts Illinois’ growing clean energy sector and workforce and puts Illinois on a path to 50% renewable energy by 2040. CEJA boosted funding for programs like Illinois Shines and Solar for All. It also created brand new, innovative programs that will expand renewable energy, train a diverse clean energy workforce, clean up our transportation sector, and more.
