Alesia Ford stated that someone approached her about going for Brown’s seat, and she started thinking about it. After being sworn in Tuesday, she took her seat on the City Council, but chose to just observe and learn rather than vote on her first night.

Meanwhile, Mayor Williams began the meeting speaking out about the controversy initiated during a recent County Board meeting about the City of Danville purchasing a significant number of properties prior to a recent public land auction. Mayor Williams again emphasized that the city has done this before, in its continued attempt to get rid of a much blighted properties as possible. He says he has spoken with County Board Chairman Larry Baughn, believes the city’s mission is understood, and hopes the transactions will be cleared at the next Vermilion County Board meeting.
