THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE NOON ROTARY RELEASE
The Danville Noon Rotary’s guest presenter for Mon., Oct. 24 was Felix Velazquez (left), a partner in Lainey’s Ice Cream on Vermilion Street in Danville. After Jeremy McLaughlin purchased the business, he brought in Mr. Velazquez, who has helped expand the store’s hours to cater to lunch and dinner patrons. Along with more than 30 flavors of ice cream, shakes, and cakes, Lainey’s has authentic Chicago-style hot dogs (Vienna hot dogs and poppy-seed buns) and the full arsenal of Chicago-style toppings. “Just don’t ask for ketchup,” Mr. Velazquez joked to members. He’s shown here with the day’s Sergeant-at-Arms Bob McIntyre.
