While appearing late last week on 1490 WDAN’s Community Connection, Danville mayor Rickey Williams, Jr stated that Comcast and AT&T have property located all of their wires under the bridge, and he says that means the Denmark Road Bridge project across Lake Vermilion will soon be coming to a conclusion.
AUDIO: And it the weather holds, we should be able to hopefully completely finish that project before Thanksgiving. And I know everyone, especially those folks who live across the lake, will be very thankful.
Meanwhile, another Potterfest is coming to Downtown Downtown Danville and the Public Library on Friday, November 4th. The mayor points out that this event began before the First Fridays events were established, but now it’s a very natural part of the rotation. Williams says October’s “Black Light and Healthy Trick-or-Treating” First Fridays event was a great example of how all these monthly events are reaching everyone.
AUDIO: There were thousands of people downtown. And I think it was just so cool to see so many people out, coming together. What I love about it is you see all kinds of people. It’s not just white folks or black folks or rich folks or poor folks; or people from the east end, or the north end, or from the heights. Literally you have some of everyone coming downtown, having a good time, and it’s really exciting.
And after the Friday, November 4th Potterfest; next up will be First Fridays “Night of Lights Parade” on December 2nd.
