The annual Festival of Trees at Danville’s David S Palmer Arena is almost here: Saturday, November 12th through Wednesday, November 16th. Jim Anderson and Cassie Keister from Balloons Over Vermilion recently joined 1490 WDAN’s Laura Williams on Community Connection. As Cassie reminded us, this may be the second year for Balloons Over Vermilion running Festival of Trees, but it’s also a special year for Festival of Trees itself.

AUDIO: Well we are celebrating our 25th year. So accordingly, the theme for this year is SILVER BELLS, OUR 25th ANNIVERSARY. There is so much that we have available.
Jim Anderson explained a tiny bit of what’s on the schedule for this year.
AUDIO: We’ve got a new, what I call, “Center Ice Design” this year. I’m not going to let the cat out of the bag here, so you all will have to come down and see it! Out front, on Saturday, we’re going to have a chainsaw carver, who will be carving all kinds of different items; some of which will end up in our raffle areas. There will be an opportunity to bid on those as well.
As always, the Vermilion County area is ready for Festival of Trees, as some of the wonderful traditions like Breakfast with Santa, The Princess Tea, and The Ladies Luncheon are already sold out. For more information on this year’s Festival of Trees, just go to festivaloftreesdanville.com.
