Vermilion County, November 8th, 2022 – On Veterans Day, The Salvation Army partners again this year with Mad Goat Coffee to honor Veterans and celebrate the start of the annual red kettle season which begins Friday November 11th. The event will take place from 8AM – 10AM at Mad Goat Coffee on South Gilbert Street.
“Veterans Day is a fitting day to begin our fundraising season given the history and supportive services for Veterans that continue to be a priority for us”, says Major Jason Pollom, Executive Officer of The Salvation Army of Vermilion County.
The Salvation Army began its long-standing service to Veterans with doughnuts and coffee for soldiers during World War I, and today programs have multiplied as they are extended to thousands of Veterans each year in our country including shelter, food, rehabilitation, comfort, and counseling services by way of the organization.
“Community members and media are encouraged to join us on this meaningful day to honor Veterans and help us kick-off this much-needed fundraising season as we struggle to meet the increased needs of local families”, says Melissa Wilhelm, Development Coordinator.
With every kettle donation at the event, attendees will receive a complimentary cup of coffee, an entry to win a $20 Mad Goat gift card, and the opportunity to learn more about The Salvation Army in Danville.
