(Above) The Vermilion County War Museum is offering free admission on Veterans Day, Nov 11th; as well as Saturday, Nov 12th.
With Veterans Day happening this Friday, there are many ways to show your support and appreciation for those who served. The Vermilion County War Museum at 307 North Vermilion in Danville will be offering free admission Friday the 11the from Noon to 4, and Saturday the 12th from 10 AM to 4 PM. Museum board president Jim Kouzmanoff says volunteers are working on some very special new displays, which will add to the over sixty-thousand artifacts that the museum already has.

Meanwhile, at the Danville V.F.W. Post at 8 Pine Street on Friday, the community is invited to stop by and honor our Veterans from 11 AM to 6 PM. Kevin Gombert explains.

AUDIO: Well, we’re going to have homemade vegetable soup, and homemade chili. Along with desserts; homemade desserts. And we’re also going to have grilled cheese sandwiches. And also we’re going to have the bar open, along with the gaming machines will be open, for people’s entertainment and pleasure.
Donations for the food will be accepted.
There will also be the Veterans Coalition Ceremony at 11 AM in Danville, at the Middle East Conflicts Memorial on the northeast corner of Hazel and Williams.
American Legion Post 210 will once again be serving chili all day, until it is gone, starting around 11 AM.
Also, please don’t forget Trinity Lutheran School’s annual Veterans Day Dinner and Concert, at 824 East Main in Danville, Tuesday evening Nov 8th at 5 PM.
