As we move into Friday, Black Friday that is, all the predictions are that the high “day after Thanksgiving shopping numbers” will be back, after two years of being kicked around by COVID. Vermilion Advantage president and CEO Tim Dudley says if you are out there this weekend adding to those shopping numbers, please visit local businesses, and make them your first stop. It helps the businesses, helps Vermilion Advantage, and helps the entire county.
AUDIO: We’ve worked really hard at Vermilion Advantage, and a lot of our partners have worked hard, to bring Danville and Vermilion County back from COVID. Since we are the Chamber of Commerce also, we encourage all of our people to go out and patronize our local businesses because without them we’re nobody. And we need to support them, so they can support us.
Dudley says, there are obvious stopping points in Danville; including, of course, some new attractions downtown.
AUDIO: We’ve got wonderful stores in Danville. You know, we’ve got a stand along Kohl’s. I would encourage people to come downtown. There’s been a huge facelift to our downtown this last year since COVID. There’s very few empty buildings downtown. They’re all full of really cool shops, and we encourage all our people of Danville and Vermilion County to come downtown and check it out.
One national prediction had the full Black Friday weekend, Friday through Monday, totaling $158 billion in sales nationwide.
