THE FOLLOWING IS AN OSF HEALTHCARE RELEASE
(November 28, 2022 | Urbana, Illinois) – For 26 years, volunteers throughout Champaign County, Illinois have been providing warm gloves, mittens, hats, scarves and blankets to keep a segment of our community warm each winter through the annual Caring Mitten Tree at OSF HealthCare Heart of Mary Medical Center.
JoAnne Cabutti was a long-time nurse at OSF Heart of Mary, and recently passed away. She led efforts with the hospital’s annual Caring Mitten Tree project from 1996 through 2015. The Caring Mitten Tree, later called the JoAnne Cabutti Mitten Tree, was her pride and joy.
This year, OSF Heart of Mary is paying a special tribute to JoAnne by honoring a tradition of having the Mitten Tree in OSF Heart of Mary’s main lobby and has created a fund in her honor to keep this community initiative alive. Each $5 donation will add a mitten with a personalized message to the tree and represent a gift of a hat, scarf, or a pair of mittens for needy persons.
Donations can be made in three ways:
Online at OSF HealthCare Heart of Mary Medical Center Donation Form as a tribute gift for JoAnne Cabutti

During the Christmas Season, we encourage you to remember this message from St. Francis of Assisi, “For it is in giving that we receive.”
