Danville’s Night of Lights Holiday Parade on Friday (Dec 2nd) brought about another big crowd and the final First Fridays event of the year. Prior to the 6 PM start, lots of people in Downtown Danville were huddling up next to the storefronts to keep warm, including Kenny, there with a couple girls, whom we talked to.

Then, a couple stores down, we found two more keeping warm.

Mayor Rickey Williams, Jr mentioned beforehand how great of a turnout it was for the Night of Lights Parade, as well as all year long for First Fridays events.
AUDIO: The best part of this is seeing thousands of people out enjoying themselves together. Oh, this has been awesome. It’s incredible to see the number of people that have come out and celebrated with us each month. We’re really thankful that people have caught on board with the vision of First Fridays, that we’re celebrating downtown.

After chatting with us, the mayor took his spot as the announcer, right by the Fischer Theater.
