The Vermilion County Museum is dividing their special holiday weekend into two days this year. As museum director Sue Richter told Laura Williams on 1490 WDAN’s Community Connection, the first part will be Saturday, December 10th 1 to 4, including a visit by Santa Claus between 1:30 and 3.
AUDIO: On Saturday the Center Building will be open. And so in the Center Building, this is basically a family day. It’s crafts, refreshments, visit with Santa Claus, games for the children to play.
Richter says, don’t forget to stop by the next day, because Sunday the 11th will be the evening candlelight walk from 4:30 to 7.
AUDIO: We reinitiated it again last year; it went over very well. 4:30 to 7, so it’s not too late for children to be able to come. And in this one they will be able to see the costumed characters from the different periods of the rooms of the house.
And don’t forget, the Vermilion County Museum gift shop is a great place for Christmas shopping, including the purchase of a museum membership for someone on your list.
