A lot of questions are being asked after it became known over the weekend that the AMC Movie Theaters at the Village Mall are shutting their doors. Vermilion Advantage CEO Tim Dudley says, it’s a matter of finding out why, and where we can go from here. Dudley says they found out like pretty much everyone else.

We thought the cinema was healthy, was making money; we don’t know for sure but we’re going to dig into it. We’re going to see if it was a company cutback or any kind of dispute with their leasing or whatever. We’re going to find out what it is.
If indeed AMC is gone, the obvious question is, what next. Dudley says obviously someone moving into the current theater space would be preferred.

So obviously the number one goal would be to try to get them to stay there, if they are profitable. And second of all, if they do go ahead and move, then we want to try to fill that space.
