The jobs pictures for Vermilion County and the City of Danville showed small changes in different directions from the month of October to the month of November.
In Vermilion County, the unemployment rate, for the second month in a row, ticked up one-tenth of a percentage point from 5.1% in October to 5.2% in November. Vermilion County’s rate stood at 5.1% in November of last year.
The City of Danville’s jobless rate improved, however; coming in at six percent flat in November after a reading of 6.3% in October. Danville’s rate in November of 2021 was 6.3% as well.
The Illinois Department of Employment Security says the latest numbers have not been seasonally adjusted.
Also in Vermilion County, total non-farm employment showed an increase of 400 jobs overall compared to last November. Looking at more specific categories; a gain of 200 jobs was reported in Manufacturing, while gains of 100 jobs were reported in Transportation-Warehousing-Utilities, Education and Health Services, and in the “Other Services” category. A drop of 100 jobs from last November was reported in the Retail Trade sector.
