With the holidays now complete, Danville and area residents can get rolling with the 2023 First Fridays schedule, starting with this Friday’s FIRE AND ICE event, 5 to 8 PM at the David S. Palmer Arena.
Danville Community Relations Administrator Ashton Greer says they’ve gone indoors for First Fridays events before, but never quite like this.
Audio PlayerAUDIO: Danville’s Got Talent was indoors. There have been a couple of indoor events, like the Progressive Dinner. But this is one that’s all in one location; and it’s our first event at the arena, which we’re excited about.
Greer says the event will definitely live up to its “Fire and Ice” name.
Audio PlayerAUDIO: There’s ice themed activities like ice skating; sledding. We’ll be making some snowflakes and doing ice crafts. But then we also have fire themed activity like fire spinners; to fire trucks, fire safety information. There’s an obstacle course. All sorts of activities that area themed towards fire and themed towards ice. And it’s free.
And of course, plenty of “Fire and Ice” food is planned as well.
Audio PlayerAUDIO: Lovin Cup is coming in with a fire and an ice themed cotton candy for sale. Kayla’s Chic Treats will be selling s’mores cupcakes, and her cupcakes are just decadent. And the arena also has some themed concessions as well.
Again, that’s 5 to 8 PM Friday at the David S. Palmer Arena. Please enter through the public ice skating door along Main Street.
