After being sworn in for his fourth term representing the 104th District in the Illinois House, Mike Marron says; Yes, the Democrats still have the super-majority in both houses, but that doesn’t mean Republicans are not ready to go to work.
AUDIO: We have even fewer numbers this session than what we did last. So we’re going to probably be playing a lot of defense. But I’m always positive, and I think we’re going to put up a good fight. We’re going to do some good things for the people of the State of Illinois.
And although Marron continues to serve some Vermilion County residents, the newly drawn 104th District has given him some more Champaign County residents this time around.
AUDIO: It’s become a little less rural, and I picked up a little more of the City of Champaign. It’s always challenging when you have new areas to represent; and getting out and meeting those people, and finding out what their viewpoints are. But we’re going to stay busy and get it done.
Marron says he intends to be busy this session; fighting for the 104th District, and its economic growth.
AUDIO: Hopefully some relief for the high energy costs that employers and residents of the district are seeing right now. And maybe work on some workforce development issues; and do some things to try to help the people of the 104th.
