(Above) DHS Basketball Coach Durrell Robinson, right, poses during last year’s signing day for Martez Rhodes.
Anyone attending Saturday’s (Jan 28th) afternoon Danville Vikings basketball game against Urbana, or Monday (Jan 30th) evening’s against Rantoul may notice something unique about DHS basketball coach Durrell Robinson. All the way through Monday the 30th it’s the National Association of Basketball Coaches’ COACHES VERSUS CANCER SUITS & SNEAKERS WEEK.
You may see the coach in a unique pair of shoes, or even a unique tie. And either way, as Coach Robinson reminded us, the battle against cancer, and raising funds to fight cancer, is very important to him.
AUDIO: I’ve had family members; I’ve even had friends who passed away, cancer related. And my mom also, she’s an amputee; but she’s a two-time cancer survivor as well. It’s very close to me and it’s very important.
And remember, the American Cancer Society Hotline is available 24/7 at 1-800-227-2345, or go to cancer.org.
