News story here.
February will be a big month for a lot of Danville District 118 art students in 5th through 12th grades, as selected art work will be on display at the Danville Art League, located at 320 North Franklin. This will include a special reception for the students, 1 to 3 PM at the Art League on Saturday, February 18th.
South View Upper Elementary Art Teacher Brianna Hubbard says each school in the district can submit up to 60 pieces of work, so all the district art teachers have been busy. And she’s hoping for a great turnout by students to see their work and others’ works.

AUDIO: It’s just going to be a really fun event, and I hope that they invite their families to it too. Currently I’ve got about 30 pieces, 36 pieces, something like that; for my students, for 5th and 6th grade. So again, I can submit up to 60, so it’s just kind of depends on what they submit before the show.
Hubbard mentioned that after the month of February at the Danville Art League, District 118 art students will be preparing for an even bigger event: the month of April district wide Arts Fest, with works on display at Danville High School.
