THE FOLLOWING LETTER IS FROM PARIS DISTRICT 95
Dear Parents,
Over the past several years, Paris Union School District No. 95 has worked hard to expand our services to students and families. Today, we are excited to announce a new, helpful resource we have for our families. The American Academy of Pediatrics has a special tool called Bright Futures that helps parents learn more about their child’s health and happiness.
Through our partnership with the association, we can now offer free online screenings that are entirely confidential. Bright Futures is a national program that gives advice on how to take care of children and teens. It covers things like their physical health, how they are growing, how they act, and how they feel. After you take the survey, a school health worker will analyze the results and let you know if there are any areas of concern. The results will be mailed along with educational information to help support your child.
If a parent would like to discuss the results further, the school health providers will be available to review the results and provide assistance. It is important to check on our children’s health and happiness early on so we can stop bigger problems from happening later. The American Academy of Pediatrics says, “checking in and watching out for children’s health is important for making sure they stay healthy and catch problems early” (American Academy of Pediatrics, 2018). By taking the Bright Futures survey,
we can ensure our children get the best care and fix any problems as soon as possible. You can participate in the screenings online for free at www.tigerhealthcenter.com.
If you have any questions about the survey, please contact our mental health expert, Amanda Martin, at 217-466-6170 or amartin@paris95schools.org.Thank you for helping us with this critical program, and we look forward to working together to keep our children healthy and happy.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jeremy Larson, MBA
