A meeting called “SAVE SCHLARMAN” has been scheduled for 7 PM Monday (Feb 27th) at the Fischer Theater. Doors should be opening around 6:30. A letter sent to Schlarman principal Barb Rew and the Peoria Diocese says this is intended to be a “peaceful, Catholic centered discussion;” where each speaker will have two minutes to bring forward issues and present their opinions.
Anyone associated with Schlarman or who cares about the school is welcome, and the letter expressed hope that the Diocese and Principal Rew would be interested in speaking.
Schlarman parent, Danville City Council Alderwoman and now resigned Schlarman Academy Consultative Board member Eve Ludwig, who sent the letter, says this is a chance for some very important communication; primarily about school leadership, and lack of communication with the Diocese.

The three who have departed are former principal Mark Janesky, who had come out of retirement to assist Principal Rew; Dean of Students Courtney Hemker, whose north campus position was eliminated last Tuesday (Feb 21st); and Dean of Students Mark Croy, whose north campus position was eliminated Friday.
Although calls to the Peoria Diocese by Neuhoff Media have not been returned after the phone number was provided by Principal Rew, a letter was released by the Diocese late Friday, which can be found at the end of Friday’s vermilioncountyfirst.com story about the departure of Mark Croy.
