Tilton Fire officials have confirmed that about $2,500 in damages was done to Lebanon Chemical Fire on Monday at 508 West Ross Lane in Tilton.
The alarm was received at 11:15 AM, and five additional departments were called in to help battle the fire until 1:30 PM.
The assisting fire departments included the Georgetown Fire Protection District, the Kickapoo Fire Protection District, Lynch Fire Protection District, Westville Fire Protection District, and Catlin Fire Protection District.
Officials say that the fire began from a spark during the cutting of metal, and the fire ignited in a space between a wall and ceiling. Although no chemicals were involved in the fire, officials say it was a tough fire to get to, and 20 fire extinguishers had been emptied before water was pumped in and the fire was eventually extinguished.
