ABOVE: Director of Cannabis Development for Offutt Development Marshall Lionti, Tilton mayor David Phillips, Sr; Developer Paul Offutt, Parkway Dispensaries CEO Ambrose Jackson, and Parkway Vice-President of Facilities Jim Reilly pose during the Parkway Dispensaries groundbreaking, in front of True Grit Fitness on the east side of Georgetown Road in Tilton.
Parkway Dispensaries has officially broken ground alongside Georgetown Road in Tilton, and they hope to have their new cannabis dispensary, including a consumption lounge, up and open by this summer. Meanwhile, land owner and developer Paul Offutt has a structure that’s been there next to the True Grit Fitness for three years, which he’s been planning to use for a cannabis growth facility. He’s hoping to have that functional by the first of the new year. Parkway CEO Ambrose Jackson, who was recently turned down by the Danville City Council, says he’s glad all worked out in Tilton.
AUDIO: The fact that we were able to close on an agreement; and create a win-win not just for the both of us, but for the city of Tilton. We’re looking at creating something that I guess could be seen as a little bit more of a complex, something that is a greater draw.
Marshall Lionti, who works as Director of Cannabis Development for Offutt Development Incorporated, says everything from growth to dispensing at one spot will be a major asset.
AUDIO: We’re really excited for what we’re going to be able to bring to Tilton, and all the activity it’s going to bring to the space. The consumption lounge; the dispensary, by themselves are going to be quite a site. But certainly right here behind us is going to be a manufacturing facility for cannabis products, made for consumers. Obviously that will help feed the inventory right here at our dispensary location.
Tilton mayor David Phillips, Sr is expecting an annual $900,000 in tax revenue starting with Fiscal Year 2025. He has three targets: police, fire, and ambulance service.
AUDIO: We’re going to offset police salaries with it, and add another policeman also. We have a full time ambulance service so we’re paying salaries there. This portion of the money is going to go to emergency services, all of it.
Paul Offutt says, this has been on his radar for a long time.
AUDIO: This was a dream of myself and my deceased wife Molly, that I lost back in May to cancer. And she would’ve been the medical director for it. We’re going to name the lounge and the facility for the dispensary “Molly’s Joint,” which will in honor of her.
Vermilion Advantage CEO Tim Dudley says Parkway may not have been able to build in Danville; but the important thing is, they are building in Vermilion County.
AUDIO: We’re here to support and help businesses that want to come in all of Vermilion County, not just Danville. That may have been the perception at one point in our existence, but it isn’t any more. We’re all about Vermilion County; and this is a great day for Tilton, and it’s a great day for Mr. Offutt and his partners, and we’re out here to support them.
Offutt echoed that, saying Tilton rolled out the carpet.
AUDIO: Everything has come together in the last month, since Ambrose and the Parkway group didn’t go to Danville. They contacted us. I had already been approved by Tilton, and Tilton welcomed us with open arms. So all I can say is “go Tilton.”
The targeted summer opening date for Parkway Dispensaries on Georgetown Road in Tilton is August 1st.
