D102’s morning show host, Tommy B, attended the St. Louis Cardinals annual salute to their radio affiliates at Busch Stadium as they played the Arizona Diamondbacks.
During the event the Cardinals salute the 147 radio stations in 9 states that carry Cardinals baseball, which includes Neuhoff Media Danville’s 1490 WDAN-AM, which has been affiliated with the Cardinals since 1998.
The affiliate representatives are treated to games on April 18-19, a special presentation with the Cardinals radio announcers John Rooney & Ricky Horton, along with team management, including President of Baseball Operations for the Cardinals, John Mozeliak.
Door prizes are also awarded, and D102’s Tommy B, who also serves as Operations Manager for Neuhoff Media Danville, won the opportunity to throw out the first pitch at the game on Tuesday night.
“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, that I can happily say that I have now been able to do twice,” said Tommy, as he received the same opportunity back in 2008.
His pitch, by the way, was a ball outside, in the dirt, thrown to Cardinals pitcher #44 Jake Woodford.
