A women’s brunch held in Springfield on Tuesday honored female leaders throughout the state. State Rep Mike Marron invited two ladies from Danville to attend: North Ridge Middle School principal Eliza Brooks, and City of Danville Community Relations Administrator Ashton Greer.
For Danville mayor Rickey Williams, Jr; it was something to smile about.
AUDIO: I’ve worked with Principal Brooks in a lot of capacities, both at Boys and Girls Club and then Project Success. She’s a phenomenal leader. And Ashton has done an amazing job in her role here at the city, but also before that, in making sure that Danville is a better place to live, work, and play. And so I’m just incredibly proud of both of those women. They do us proud.
Ashton Greer said it was great to be selected from among so many female leaders in the region.
AUDIO: There are many strong female leaders in Danville and the surrounding area, and in Representative Marron’s district. So for him to select me and bring me alongside Ms. Brooks for work in our community was quite an honor. The whole day was really educational and informative and inspiring. And I’m just grateful to have the opportunity.
The Illinois Women in Leadership organization holds their symposium on an annual basis.
