Former Tilton Police Chief David Cornett has a May 1st Vermilion County Court date; as he faces eight combined counts of Theft and Official Misconduct for the alleged stealing of firearms that had been in the custody of law enforcement.
The complaint obtained by Neuhoff Media lists various guns that Cornett allegedly seized unauthorized control of; including a Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun, a Colt 45 semi-automatic pistol, a 22 pistol revolver, and a 9mm Luger WIN cartridge.
Cornett’s Monday, May 1st court date is set for 2:45 PM.
