THE FOLLOWING IS A CHAMPAIGN COUNTY CORONER’S OFFICE RELEASE
Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup is releasing the identity of a Saint Joseph, Illinois woman involved in a two-vehicle head on collision east of Saint Joseph, Illinois at approximately on April 30, 2023. Rebecca S. Gerald, age 62, was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:35 PM on April 30, 2023 by the coroner.
Ms. Gerald was driving her vehicle westbound on Illinois Route 150 at approximately 8:35 PM when it reportedly crossed the center line and collided with an oncoming vehicle. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, May 1, 2023 at the Champaign County Regional Autopsy Facility located in Urbana, Illinois. This crash
is under investigation by the Illinois State Police and the coroner’s office.
