THE FOLLOWING IS A CHAMPAIGN COUNTY CORONER’S OFFICE RELEASE
Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup is releasing the identity of two males involved in a single motor vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5:55PM on May 8, 2023 on County Road 2700E at 1700N.
Douglas Stevens, age 58, of Ogden, Illinois was reportedly the driver of the vehicle when he lost control and struck a guardrail. Mr. Douglas was transported to the Carle Foundation Hospital Emergency Department where he was pronounced dead at 7:11PM on May 8, 2023.
The passenger in the vehicle was identified as Keylan Henry, age 20, of Ogden, Illinois. Mr. Henry was pronounced dead at 7:00PM on May 8, 2023 at the scene of the crash. Mr. Stevens and Mr. Henry were reportedly not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash and both men died from multiple blunt force injuries they received during the crash.
The circumstances surrounding this crash are under investigation by the Champaign County Sheriff’s Department and the Champaign County Coroner’s Office.
